Arita ware (有田焼) was created over 400 years ago, and early types mostly consisted of indigo/blue designs on white or celadon porcelain. As the techniques evolved over time, designs began to be painted directly onto already fired and glazed ceramics in red, yellow, green, purple, gold, and silver or gold enamels.
Produced by the Ryoho kiln, this lidded teacup's details are painted with the classic indigo underglaze. This particular style of pattern is called the Shozui pattern which is a celebratory style of pattern passed down to the Japanese by the Chinese in the Ming dynasty. The Shozui pattern typically has panels of patterns of Sho (pine) Chiku (bamboo) Bai (Japanese plum) which are symbols of celebration and luck!
Traditionally, lidded tea cups are used when having tea with company. The lid serves the purpose of keeping dust, bugs and poison out of your tea while you chat with your friends or family. Lidded tea cups are perfect for a garden tea party or even when you're busy working away at your desk!
Once the candle has finished burning, simply wash the vessel with warm soapy water and it’s ready to be reused as a tea cup or to store your rings or to store salt in your kitchen for easy access while cooking!

Candle Care:
Burn the candle for a minimum of 2 hours to experience the candle’s full aroma and effect. For 100% essential oil blends, the candles do not contain any fragrance boosting chemicals so they may take a little more time to spread their scent.
Trim wicks to 0.25"/0.6cm each time before lighting.
Make sure to burn your candle on heat resistant surfaces!
All our candle vessels are reusable for a more environmentally-friendly candle burning experience. After the candle is finished burning, simply wash the vessel with warm water and dish soap.
