This rare piece of Kutani yunomi features a gentle painting of pokeweed in red, blue and green against a yellow polka dotted background.
Pokeweed came to Japan in the Asuka Period (late 1800s – early 1900s) and is a highly poisonous plant to humans, dogs and livestock. They bear small red and purple fruits, also known as dragonberries! While it is poisonous for us to eat or touch, it is still used in gardens to fend off pests.
Don’t forget to reuse the vessel when the candle has finished burning by washing it with warm soapy water. You can then enjoy it as a new tea cup for some freshly brewed tea, or use it to hold small trinkets on your vanity table!

Candle Care:
Burn the candle for a minimum of 2 hours to experience the candle’s full aroma and effect. For 100% essential oil blends, the candles do not contain any fragrance boosting chemicals so they may take a little more time to spread their scent.
Trim wicks to 0.25"/0.6cm each time before lighting.
Make sure to burn your candle on heat resistant surfaces!
All our candle vessels are reusable for a more environmentally-friendly candle burning experience. After the candle is finished burning, simply wash the vessel with warm water and dish soap.
